Help transform the future for children like Millie
Every child whose life is turned upside down by brain injury deserves the best possible care. Please give today and help more children benefit from our specialist support, so they can live life to the full.
In August 2022, three-year-old Millie was brought to The Children’s Trust for specialist treatment. Millie had had a stroke. And at that point, Millie's mum Alice genuinely thought Millie would never walk or talk again.
But by the time they went home, just four months later, Millie was taking steps by herself and saying words they could all recognise.
Alice, Millie's mum explains:
"We saw Millie gradually come back to us because of the care she received. There was the time in the hydrotherapy pool when she moved her leg for the first time since her stroke. And the messy food play session when she first made a sound we’d been practising for weeks. Those moments will stay with me forever."
With costs soaring and thousands of children experiencing a life changing brain injury every year, The Children’s Trust urgently needs donations to offer highly specialist, round-the-clock care to more children like Millie.
The kind of expert support children with brain injury and neurodisability need is very expensive – and costs are rising all the time. Things like specially adapted music equipment and the one-to-one hydrotherapy sessions meant Millie could be independent and be herself again. By giving a gift today, you can help us provide the care, therapy and education needed to give them the opportunity to live their best life possible. So please donate whatever you can today.
Thank you so much for your support.
