Her Royal Highness met children and staff, and took part in a music workshop during her visit to the charity which is based in Surrey.
She had a tour of the rehabilitation facilities where children receive therapies such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy.
The Countess played games on a light-up Cardio Wall with 13-year-old Nieve who is staying at the centre for specialist rehabilitation following an accident.
The visit came to a close with a special reception where The Countess officially opened the new Music Zone, unveiling a golden disc plaque. Three-year-old Phoebe and 17-year-old Ben thanked The Countess by presenting her with a painting that the children had created together and a posy of flowers.
Dalton Leong, Chief Executive of The Children’s Trust, said: “It was a huge honour to have Her Royal Highness The Countess of Wessex join us today. Children, staff and volunteers were very excited about her visit, and it’s been great to show Her Royal Highness why music and our new Music Zone, generously funded by Simplyhealth, is such an important facility for all of the children here.”
