School admissions

As a unique non-maintained special school, known to provide a specialist offer for quality-of-life experience across education, health, therapy and care we are often approached by parents, families and professionals considering a school placement for a child or young person.

We understand that making the decision to seek a day or residential school place involves time, research, and commitment. Our dedicated placements team is on hand to provide support and guidance throughout the process and can be reached by calling 01737 365 080 or emailing placements@thechildrenstrust.org.uk

The School has an overall intake of 44 students, made up of both residential and day learners. There are 7 classes, arranged by Key Stage, which does include a dedicated early year and sixth form provision. On average there are 6 students ensuring students are taught in the appropriate aged teaching group allowing for meaningful learning alongside their peers.

Admissions policy and school procedures

As a special school we mainly facilitate in-year applications and school placement to the school.

If your child is already in school and you’re considering a transfer to a new provision, in first instance you should:

  • Discuss it with your child’s current school.
  • Discuss it with other key professionals i.e., social worker / education case manager.
  • Discuss it at your child’s Annual Review meeting.

If you would then like to start the application to The Children’s Trust School, please contact us on 01737 365 080 or email placements@thechildrenstrust.org.uk.
