Learning

At The Children’s Trust School we believe in recognising and nurturing the individuality of each pupil. According to our latest Ofsted report, parents agree that our school "opens up a whole new world" for its students. Our dedicated staff ensures that every child, regardless of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), experiences life in all its richness.

The learning goes beyond the ordinary. Our staff are experts in teaching students to communicate using individualised methods, empowering them to find their voices. Learning here is a journey filled with moments of wonder and celebration, where pupils enjoy the process and actively engage in their education.

Our curriculum stands out for its exceptional effectiveness, providing an adaptable framework that seamlessly integrates with pupils' education, health and care plans. Teachers finely tune learning goals based on multidisciplinary assessments, ensuring a purposeful and individualised learning experience. We are not just a school; we are a place where the curriculum and meaningful learning meet.

As highlighted in our Ofsted 2023 report:

The school’s curriculum is extremely effective. It provides an adaptable framework, which teachers combine with the information from pupils’ education, health and care (EHC) plans to ensure that learning is highly purposeful and individualised. The curriculum and its delivery allow all pupils to experience success and recognition.
