
Constraint Induced Movement Therapy
For the Upper Limb in Children with Unilateral Impairment

Hosted by The Children’s Trust, the day will focus on the following learning objectives for Constraint Induced Movement Therapy for the upper limb in Children with unilateral Impairment:
- Manual ability of children and young people with unilateral impairment and the role that plasticity and therapy play in improved function.
- Similarities and differences in CIMT and Bimanual therapy and when they are appropriate to implement.
- Assessment to determine best candidates, including sensation, attention and planning.
- Interventions in CIMT including constraints, shaping, task practice (play and activities of daily living).
- Dosage and input recommendations.
About the trainer
The training is presented by Phillip Fay, BAppSc (Occupational Therapy) Sydney University, Director of CI Therapy Australia.
Phillip set up the first CIMT clinic in Australia and has completed more than 80 intensive clinics with adults and children. Phillip has now trained more than 400 physiotherapists and occupational therapists in CIMT face-to-face and online in CIMT since 2014.
