Understanding the impact of ABI and hidden disability on community participation
A virtual event hosted by Susie Aspinall and Alison Fletcher
01 October 2020
On Thursday 1 October between 10am and 11am, join Alison Fletcher and Susie Aspinal , Professional Leads from our Brain Injury Community Service as we look at the key considerations when supporting a child or young person with an acquired brain injury in the community.
This will include:
- hidden disability, unmet/unrecognised needs
- concussion/mild TBI
- stages of transition
- impact on participation
- return to activity
- case study examples
This session will help to support you in maximising a child’s participation, understanding the impact of early intervention and supporting a change in the child’s trajectory, as well as providing some understanding of the impact of recognising a child’s unmet needs, vs. the impact of these needs not being recognised.
This session is aimed at health, education and social care teams supporting children in the community.
