A caring, child-centred culture

A caring, child-centred culture is tangible throughout the organisation from the work of trustees through to daily classroom interactions.

The inspection report highlighted many areas where the School is excelling, citing that:

  • Children flourish at the school and their individuality is recognised and nurtured.
  • The education that children receive helps them participate more confidently in the world around them.
  • Staff are experts at teaching children to communicate using a range of methods personalised to each individual. This work empowers children, helping them to find their voice.
  • Lessons are characterised by moments of wonder and celebration.
  • Children benefit from a strong focus on accessible art and music, both as areas of study and as a therapeutic input.

One parent added:

[The School] opens up a whole new world for the children.

Thank you to our team

Our staff were praised for their expertise, while our leadership team was commended for creating a culture where everyone is eager to reflect and learn.

Melanie Burrough, Director of Therapies and Education at The Children’s Trust, said:

We are thrilled that our School has been recognised as an Outstanding Provider by Ofsted Education. This achievement has only been made possible by the dedication and creativity of all our staff, the energy and enthusiasm of our children and young people, and the support of our families, donors and commissioning partners.

We will continue to work hard to offer children and young people with neurodisability and complex needs the most meaningful opportunities to learn, as well as strive to provide parents and families with the best possible information and support.
