Nicholas Owen is urging people to lace up their boots and take part in the Surrey Hills Hike in March.
The walk is being held by the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injury, The Children’s Trust.
Nicholas, an ambassador and volunteer for the charity, will be meeting and greeting walkers before they set off from the charity’s headquarters on Sunday 12 March.
“It’s a pleasure to be involved in this event again. It’s a terrific morning of walking for people of all abilities and a great opportunity to explore the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
He added: “We are expecting lots of families to take part, and of course our canine friends.”
Nicholas has long been a volunteer for The Children’s Trust and often gives up his time to drive children to and from hospital and medical appointments.
“It’s important to me to be involved and to help in any way I can,” he said. “The Children’s Trust does a remarkable job. I have seen first-hand the difference they make to a child’s recovery after an accident or illness.
“Every person who signs up for Surrey Hills Hike is making an important contribution to the work of The Children’s Trust!”
Walkers can choose from a 10-mile or 5-mile route. Marshals will be situated along both routes to guide walkers.
A fully accessible one-kilometre route around Tadworth is also available, suitable for wheelchairs and buggies.
