Action for Brain Injury Week

This week (15 – 21 May) marks Action for Brain Injury Week, a campaign dedicated to raising awareness of the impacts of brain injury. To do this, we have been sharing a week in the life of a young person on a neurorehabilitation placement here at The Children’s Trust.

Making art accessible

On Wednesday 22 March, The Children’s Trust School hosted ‘Accessible Arts Day’.

The purpose of the day was to showcase how the teaching staff make art accessible and immersive for the children and young people that attend the School. This work in the arts helps the learners reach their personal educational goals, as well enhancing their wellbeing and quality of life.

After carrying out analysis of the Supercar event, The Children’s Trust have taken the difficult decision to stop holding the event. It continues to be a challenging time for The Children’s Trust. Like many similar organisations we have seen significant increases in our costs, driven by inflationary pressures and other economic factors.

Independence for Indy

After a difficult start in life, Indy is now living and loving every day.

When Indy was born she weighed less than a bag of sugar. She was put in an incubator and whisked away from her mum Sasha. When Sasha did see Indy she was amazed she was still alive. Sasha said: “Her forearm was the same circumference as one of my fingers. It was utterly devastating.”
