Our bespoke, tailored curricula are designed to meet the unique needs of each student, ensuring that their learning journey is one of growth and achievement. Our dedicated leaders of learning organise and plan pupil learning exceptionally well, offering a curriculum that enables them to build knowledge and skills gradually, in small, achievable yet aspirational steps. This approach empowers our pupils to work successfully toward their personal Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHC plan).

We acknowledge that the curriculum is at the heart of everything we do. Our children follow thoughtfully crafted offers such as ImPACTS (Individualised, (meaningful), Profile, Assessment, Curriculum, Target, Setting), DEYO (Differentiated Early Years Outcomes), Sounds of Intent, and Special Yoga, all carefully selected to support their individual development.

Early years curriculum

At The Children's Trust School, our early years learners embark on a journey of discovery and growth. In our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), we provide a nurturing environment where children engage in child-initiated learning, guided by the Developmental Early Years Outcomes (DEYO).

Communication, language and literacy

At our school, we prioritise effective communication and engagement with each child by utilising a total communication approach.

We are committed to providing up-to-date, engaging and relevant Environmental Control Technology (ECT) equipment that empowers our learners. We utilise this equipment in innovative ways to enhance engagement and promote independence.

Music education

Music Education is a cornerstone of the School’s commitment to providing enriching and inclusive learning experiences.

Physical education

At our school we prioritise maximising opportunities for both fine and gross motor development, recognising the importance of movement and exploration for our students.

Personal, Social, Wellbeing and Health Education (PSWEHB)

Through our PSWEHB offer, we are dedicated to providing and inspiring, meaningful and personalised opportunities for each child and young person to live their best quality of life. We prioritise building resilience, confidence for both physical and mental health.
